Venice Beach, CA is what I like to call boho meets beach. You’ll find palm tree-lined streets, gorgeous homes along the Venice canals, quirky shops and restaurants; and bright murals. I love that the city is trendy while maintaining its vintage vibes. When it came to a girls’ weekend trip to LA, I knew that I wanted to stay there. The question soon became where to stay in Venice Beach? I wanted a hotel that matched the city, the Kinney Venice Beach fit the bill perfectly.

About the Rooms
The two main room types are “crash pad suites” and “guest rooms.” You can read more about them here.
We stayed in the one of the “Crash Pad Suites” that overlooked the Quad (the heart of the hotel with fire pits, the pool, ping pong tables, and more). I fell in love with the rocker-vintage theme of our room. My favorite part? The artwork on the wall! PS: as a pillow snob, I’m happy to report that the pillows were absolutely dreamy.
Have breakfast at The Breakfast Club
When it comes to travel, I tend to rush through breakfast because I have places to be! The Kinney’s breakfast cafe, “The Breakfast Club” is the perfect solution. Think: tasteful dishes and healthy drinks, but served speedily.
Forget about the usual continental breakfast that travelers love to avoid. This reasonably priced option features a carefully crafted menu that would rival any brunch spot’s options!
- Breakfast Club hours: Daily from 7:30 AM – 10:30 AM
- Menu items: breakfast burritos, paninis, protein shakes, Vittoria coffee, specialty drinks, & more.
- What we ordered: Panini, breakfast burrito ( a must-try!), “Muscle Beach” protein shake, latte
Hang out on The Quad at The Kinney:
The heart of the hotel, lovingly dubbed “The Quad” is the main hangout spot for guests. I’m not going to lie, it was pretty cool. It feels very L.A. Catch some sun on the lawn chairs, play some ping pong, or take a dip in the pool.
My favorite part? They happened to be hosting a “Kinney Movie Night” during our stay. The team brought out blankets and popcorn, and we sat by the fire and watched a movie. It was one of the highlights of our trip!
