Hi babes!
If you follow me on Instagram, you probably know that I spent this weekend in Vancouver, Canada. You might also know that Seattle was expecting “the worst storm in 50 years” and that “Vancouver would be effected.” At first I was like g-r-e-a-t. But luckily, those were some exaggerations, and Vancouver though rainy and cold was manageable.
We left Seattle early in the AM on Saturday and headed straight for Granville Island. Granville is kind of a Pike Place meets Bainbridge Island (if you’ve ever been to Seattle). There is a big public market, shops, and small restaurants.
Vancouver, Canada Travel Diary
Stop 1: Granville Island & Public Market
The original plan was to get a variety of treats and coffee at the market for breakfast. K and I were both so hungry that we decided to do breakfast at Edible Canada. It was good but looking back we agreed that it would have been better to try a bunch of little things instead of a big Canadian breakfast. Also, tip: get there early when they open to avoid crowds and have a more calm experience.
Stop 2: Lynn Canyon Suspension Bridge
Here’s a minor hack that is good to note if you’re planning a trip to Vancouver. Lynn Canyon is the smaller of two main suspension bridges in the area (the other being Capilano). We had originally planned to go to both. It was pouring rain when we got to Capilano AND discovered there’s a $40 (or $30 I can’t remember) fee to get in. I think that would be worth it if it were summer and you were looking to do all the attractions. Lynn Canyon on the other hand is very “locals only” and free. I would definetly recommend it if you want the suspension/ nature experience without the price tag.
Stop 3: Robson Street
Robson Street is a cute area with shops and restaurants. I think the vibe would have been totally different in the sun, since I would have loved to have a sangria on one of the rooftop restaurants but the rain was cozy! When I discovered there was a Ladurée I had to stop for a macaroon. (Seattle get Ladurée #please&thankyou) I’ve been to the Hong Kong and Paris locations and just love everything about it.
Tip: stop in for some tea and macaroons on a rainy day.
Now for my favorite discussion: the fashion.
This look is a little different from what I’ve been wearing lately. It feels very cozy and winter. It was perfect for the low fifties weather and rain weather. I’m in love with that sweater even though sometimes it feels a little unflattering (lol). We shot this look on Granville Island early in the morning. I was loving the fall leaves and little shops! I’ve had most of these pieces for a while so I’ll do my best to link similar ones down below!
Shop this look: | hat (similar) | pants | boots | sweater (similar) | bag (similar) |
Thanks for reading my Vancouver, Canada Travel Diary! Have you been to Vancouver? What’s your favorite thing to do? Thoughts on this look?
