When it comes to my skincare routine, one week I may have 10 products I use nightly; and another week I’m using one product while traveling. The reality however is that whether it’s a weekend trip or a longer adventure, my goal is to reduce the amount of products I use. I also have wanted to maintain the same routine whether I’m at home in the Bay Area or country-hopping in Europe. The problem is always that I refuse to have half a suitcase of skincare products. If this sounds familiar, keep reading. This is where the Heritage Store & my new travel skincare routine come in.
My Travel Skincare Routine Requirements
- Must be all natural
- Must be limited to 2-3 products
- Has to work on sensitive skin
Meet the Heritage Store
Heritage Store, founded in 1969 dubs themselves as the “OG Rosewater.” I feel like rosewater has become trendy in the last few years, but has been around forever. The line has expanded out of just rosewater into other items like toner. They are all about natural skincare products that make your skincare routine effortless.
Where to buy Heritage Store Naturals Products: You can find the products at health food stores like Whole Foods, Sprouts, and Lucky’s. You can also find them at Target, Ulta, and Urban Outfitters.
The Products
Rosewater & Glycerin Spray
About the Product: It’s made of 3 ingredients – pure rose oil, vegetable glycerin and Vor-MagTM Water.
How to use it: You can use it as a setting spray or as part of your evening skincare routine after applying toner.
Rosewater
About the Product: The rosewater is just Rose Hydroessential Oil and Water. It is all-natural and cruelty-free.
How to use it: You can use it as a perfume or body spray. For some extra cooling off, keep it in the fridge.
Facial Toner
About the Product: The oil-free facial toner removes debris & residue.
How to use it: Apply it with a cotton ball before makeup, sunscreen and moisturizer.
My Travel Skincare Routine
Even though I called this my “travel skincare routine,” it’s really become more of a skincare routine that also works for travel. First things first – I bought mini travel size bottles & moved all the products to smaller containers.
For travel, I use the rose water throughout the day and as a body spray (so that means I can leave the perfume at home!) The toner is for after I remove my makeup in the evening. Lastly, I use the Rosewater & Glycerin as a setting spray before popping out the door. I have found that with the combo of the 3, I don’t need to bring a moisturizer which is an added plus.
There you have it – my 3 step skincare routine!
