Welcome to Downtown San Diego, Margaritaville Hotel San Diego Gaslamp Quarter! We recently enjoyed checking out brunch at the 5 o’Clock Somewhere Bar and really enjoyed the entire experience. We’ve felt a little blue after returning from our recent Caribbean vacation, so this brunch spot certainly had us feeling like we were back on island time. Here’s everything you need to know about the new San Diego brunch spot you must try this summer.
BRUNCH SERVICE
While poolside food service is available daily, brunch at the Margaritaville Hotel San Diego Gaslamp Quarter is a weekend exclusive. On Saturdays and Sundays, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., you can enjoy brunch bites and drinks poolside.
It’s hard to beat a rooftop pool or restaurant. At the 5 o’clock Somewhere Bar, the vibes were high, and the panoramic views of San Diego were breathtaking. Additionally, the hotel plans to offer a regular schedule of performers, including music, comedy, and magic. If you can imagine it, it will be on the schedule here. You’re in for a good time at this spot this summer.
FOOD MENU
Now, let’s get to the good stuff: the food menu. The best way to describe the menu is California coastal. We tried the California Avocado Toast with Salmon, the Lobster Roll, the Yard Bird, and the California Breakfast Burrito. My favorite thing to do is order a bunch of things to share for the table, so this was an incredible spread to taste a little bit of everything. If you prefer to stick to your own plate, the California Breakfast Burrito was my favorite, but you can’t go wrong with any of these dishes.
DRINK MENU
Brunch is better with a few drinks, so we also ordered a Champagne Flight and a Mango Habanero Bloody Mary. I’m more of a champagne girl, so I enjoyed the flight. Sipping champagne at brunch is always fun, but dining in a cabana truly made us feel like we were back on vacation.
If you’re going in a group, or perhaps you want to make a day out of the adventure, you can reserve your own cabana! To reserve your own cabana, email sales@margaritavillehotelsandiego.com. There are also various lawn games to play in between eating, drinking, and pool time.
If you’re looking for me this summer, I’ll be enjoying a poolside cabana at the 5 o’clock Somewhere Bar at the Margaritaville Hotel San Diego Gaslamp Quarter!
