My first time attending a music festival, I wasn’t sure what to pack or how to prep for the weekend. I wasn’t really thinking about what it would be like to be surrounded by herds of people, or how to find my friends, or the damage my hair was going to get from the dust. As we kick off the summer festival season, BabbleBoxx and I are partnering up to share some tips for packing for festival season.
5 Tips for Packing for Festival Season
Tip 1: Prep your hair before and after the festival.
Before an event, I find it important to indulge in some self-care. A hair mask is a must when prepping for the hair spray, dust, and craziness of a festival! Indie beauty brand MANE CLUB came out with a 5-in-1 deep conditioning mask that is great for pre and post festival! PS their branding is so fun. If you had to pick a phrase, which one would you be? I would totally be “expert procrastinator!”
Tip 2: Check your phone’s service situation/ bandwidth. (And pack a portable charger)
You don’t want to be stuck with a dead phone, or worse – be in a situation where you have slow/no service. I love my new portable charger that Simple Mobile sent over. But better than that? They offer no-contract plans with unlimited talk & text. My favorite part? The high- speed data (they have 4G LTE+).
Tip 3: Protect your eyes.
Having light colored eyes, I’m always wearing sunglasses. Regardless, especially during the summer it is so important to protect your eyes! Zenni eyewear not only protect your eyes, but make a statement. I also love that they’re at a super reasonable price point (perfect for running around the festival grounds).
Tip 4: Don’t lose track of time!
I always bring a watch when I attend festivals. You never know when your phone might die. Especially when you plan to meet your friends at X location at Y Time! I’ve been all about the 90s nostalgia lately (if you can tell by my vintage look), and the Casio G-Shock fits the bill! I’m wearing the S Series GMAS120MF which also doubles as the perfect sports watch. It’s water resistant and has an auto LED light for nighttime.
Tip 5: Get a clear backpack.
Nowadays, a lot of festivals have rules around what type of bag you can bring. Some even require that only clear bags can enter. This has become a huge requirement for stadiums too! I personally love this clear little Samsonite backpack. It collapses in the suitcase, and fits all your essentials. I’ll for sure be bringing it with me to BottleRock.
What music festivals are you heading to this season?
