I can’t believe that it’s been more than a week since NYFW ended. It feels like just yesterday that I was visiting presentations, chatting with others in the fashion industry, and attending shows. Today I’m sharing my New York Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2018 Show Round-up. While I a couple of looks have been posted, more content is on its way. Namely –

Today we’re talking about my favorite shows from NYFW & What I Wore.
New York Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2018 Show Round-up
Fashion Hong Kong
“Fashion Hong Kong” was hosted by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council to showcase upcoming HK designers. They had a show during the day and an afterparty/ presentation in the evening at The High Line Hotel. Most of the styles were ready to wear like the looks featured above.
Designer Labels Featured:
- Anveglosa
- Harrison Wong
- Heaven Please+
The look above – monochrome leather head to toe – was one of my favorites of the entire show. Maroon is a classic winter color that was modernized with the monochrome and leather beret.
Vivi Zubedi: Ready to Make Modestwear Mainstream
The Vivi Zubedi show demonstrating that modesty can be beautiful, high fashion, and chic. Vivi mixed traditional Muslim attire with the athleisure trend and embellished bling.
I love that the collection supports women entrepreneurs in South Kalimantan who provided the fabric and weaving by creating a statement for the importance of increasing quality of life.
My favorite look from the show was the third from the left. This season I’ve been all about the mix of velvet, pearls, and satin fabrics.
what i wore:
The day of the Vivi Zubedi show was unfortunately the rainiest and coldest of Fashion Week. So my original outfit went out the window as the main goal was to be fashionably warm.
Leather leggings, lace top and layered statement earrings brought a pop of FW. Meanwhile the boots, coat and hair were all very utilitarian.

Dahlia Razzook: the Cuneiform Collection
Dahlia Razzook‘s collection was all in the details. Each piece is either digital printed and/or hand embroidered from English silk (including the lining.) The entire collection is manufactured in England. When we met, I could tell that this was one of the elements of the collection that Dahlia was most proud of.
The color scheme for the collection was ivory, gold, and blue all inspired by the Epic of Gilgamesh. My favorite piece of the collection was the mod-style dress embellished with multi-colored beads (seen above).
what i wore:
For the presentation at The Plaza Hotel, I aimed for Coco Chanel meets modern day Blair Waldorf.
The sunglasses, red leather gloves and statement earrings were the little details that brought the look modern elements while the coat and dress were a nod to the classic.
Dan Liu: “The Spy Who Loved Me”
Dan Liu’s collection, titled “The Spy Who Loved Me,” was very Bonnie & Clyde meets spring/summer chic. The silhouettes, music, and styling was all very reminiscent of the 1960’s and 1970’s.
The second image from left was my favorite look of the collection. It’s classic in the cut, but modern in the styling and materials. Liu’s theme of evolving strong women was very apparent in the sunglasses, red lip and working woman meets fashion style.
what i wore:
The Dan Liu presentation was held at Spring Studios on a Saturday morning. This look was all orange everything via the oversized sweater, orange block heels, and orange bag. It brought the idea of winter flirting with spring (oh hello white jeans).
Even though all the orange stole the show, the supporting actor of this look was the vintage pearl gold jewelry – clips on earrings used on the collar and a brooch to accompany them.
