When it comes to visiting Miami, you could easily spend over a week exploring all the different nooks and crannies. There’s just a lot to see – from world-class restaurants, to shopping, to museums your Miami itinerary will quickly fill up. I am sharing my Miami long weekend itinerary, but whether you’re spending one day or five, you can easily build on these stops. My goal on my recent trip? See as much of Miami in a short amount of time. Keep reading for how to spend 3 days in Miami.
Where to stay in Miami – South Beach
I wrote an entire blog post about 1) why stay in South Beach 2) where to stay, and 3) how to score a killer deal. I’ll link that below for you to check out.
To recap – I stayed with a friend for part of the trip, and the other part we stayed at The Confidante in South Beach. South Beach (even with a deal) can be pretty pricey. I would recommend staying there at least a night to have the experience, and then migrating to an Airbnb or cheaper hotel in another part of the city for the other 2 nights.
Spend one full day in South Beach
South Beach is what everyone thinks of when they think of Miami. Here you’ll find bright colors, art deco architecture, and of course the beach. Plan to spend at least 1 full day in South Beach.
Pro tip: It gets packed, especially on weekends. Start your day early to avoid the crowds.
Spend the morning in Wynwood
Wynwood is most well-known for it’s grafitti art. This trendy neighborhood is a walking art exhibit and features trendy shops and restaurants. Check out our guide below for how to spend a morning in Wynwood!
Afternoon & Dinner in the Design District
The Design District is Wynwood’s more modern & glamorous sibling. This area oozes luxury and hosts high-end shopping, art galleries, and modern architecture. You’ll want to spend your afternoon popping in and out of shops. End your day with dinner at Mandolin Aegean Bistro.
Think Greek aesthetic, fresh ingredients & delicious food. I’m not sure what I loved most – the ambiance or the cuisine!
Morning in Coconut Grove at Vizcaya Museum & Gardens
If you’re getting tired of all the running around, take a breather at the Vizcaya Museum & Gardens. This is the perfect morning activity (especially since it gets busy in the afternoon). This home turned museum has a European-meets-Miami style. Explore the grounds, learn about the history, and grab a snack at the cafe on site.
