While researching my trip to Ecuador, I knew I was going to be spending a couple of days in the town of Baños de Agua Santa (which translates to “baths of holy water” in English). The first thing I did was research what there was to do, and guess what popped up? Luna Volcán’s amazing views from their volcanic rock pools. The more I researched, the more I was in love! The hotel really was the most Instagrammable spot in town. A special thanks to Luna Volcán for partnering with me on this post, while my stay was gifted, all opinions are my own.
Most Instagrammable Hotel in Baños, Ecuador – Luna Volcán
The Luna Volcán Hotel Property
The first thing I did when I arrived at the hotel was simply walk around the vast grounds. There’s so many beautiful fauna & flora, garden paths to go down, and relaxing corners to sit in. The environment was extremely peaceful.
Luna Volcán Pools, Jacuzzi & Bar
Next up, let’s talk about the most iconic element of the hotel – their pools and pool-side bar. I was so excited to see them. When I arrived, the whole view was covered by a wall of fog, luckily it cleared up pretty quickly. Try to visit the pool during the day and don’t forget the evening! The view is equally as stunning. You can order food and drinks at the bar – drinks get delivered to you in the pool, and you can have food poolside.
Pool Hours: 9 AM – 9:30 daily.
Bar Hours: 10 AM – 9 PM daily.
Luna Volcán Hotel Rooms
Each room type has a different name and style of decor. The one I had the opportunity to stay in was the “Atardecer Volcánico” which featured a fireplace, living room, eco-heated floor, private terrace & backyard. It was so cozy and unique! You can view all the different options here.
Luna Volcán Spa
The Luna Spa is well-known in the region for being the best spa. After getting a massage, I can see why! They have an array of services, including but not limited to:
- Rose bath with essential oils
- Chocolate bath
- Massages
- Facials
- Exfoliating treatments
- Sauna
Hours: 8 AM – 9:30 PM daily
Luna Volcán Dining
The hotel features 4 different eateries –
- Luna Bar (mentioned in the pool section)
- Café del Cielo
- Luna Restaurant
- Luna Deli
The Luna Restaurant, featured above serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. They are well known for their traditional Ecuadorean cuisine featuring organic and locally sourced ingredients. (A lot of the herbs and vegetables used in their cuisine are actually from the garden on the property.
Café del Cielo is one of the most well-known restaurants in Baños due to their fabulous views overlooking the city. I didn’t have the chance to grab anything to eat, but I did pop in to check it out and was impressed by the daytime and evening views. Hours: Daily 1 PM – 9:30 PM
The Luna Deli is a great quick and casual setting to grab a bite to eat before heading out to explore Baños for the day. They serve things like sandwiches, desserts and crepes. Hours: Daily 9 AM – 6 PM
