To my dear P&P family,
Over the past weeks I’ve been watching the news religiously. First as the COVID-19 ran rampant in China, and then took over Italy. It all felt very faraway. It was business as usual here – travel itineraries, style posts, food guides… you name it. I was heartbroken for my home country, and for all those suffering. But again, somehow it all felt very distant. Again, business as usual. A bad dream that someone else had, but not mine. In the last week, things have escalated across the world and in the United States. Hundreds of cases are appearing daily.
I’ve hunkered down with my family in San Diego, the news channels being the background music to my work. Again, business as usual. Until today. In the back of my mind there has been this growing sensation of guilt, if not disgust. The world feels like it’s ending, and here we are sharing the best coffee shops to visit or Instagrammable spots. It feels wrong.
Over at P&P we’re very aware of the seriousness of the current state of our world. Wherever you’re visiting us from, we hope that you and your loved ones stay healthy and safe.
During this time, international health authorities recommend staying home and engaging in social distancing. We are in complete support of this measure. We’re also hunkering down – getting caught up on articles we’ve been meaning to write, cleaning out the closets, etc.
So – you’ll likely see new articles popping up on our site, and new photos appearing on our social media accounts. Rest assured, these were all pre-collected. As a style & travel blog, we’ll still be posting our usual content. Hit that bookmark button, or “pin it” button and save it for later.
As much as we hate to say this, now isn’t a time to dance through the flower fields or hop on that plane.
Sending you all lots of love and well-wishes,
Giulia
