When it comes to writing my Instagram Guides, one of my favorite places is surprisingly San Jose, CA. Don’t get me wrong, talking about Seattle or New York or San Diego is all good and fun. But the reality there is that you’re 360 degrees surrounded by photogenic spots. San Jose on the other hand, is a diamond in the rough. What does that mean? It’s a scavenger hunt which I’ve spent the last two years playing. So today we’re going to be talking about my roundup of the Most Instagrammable Spots in San Jose, CA.

Most Instagrammable Spots in San Jose, CA
Rose Garden
First up is the San Jose Municipal Rose Garden. I hate to play favorites, but this spot is magical if you visit between April and November. Go early to avoid people in your photos and you can even plan to have a little picnic while you’re at it!
Cathedral Basilica of St. Joseph
The Cathedral, located downtown on Market Street, is a great stop if you’re looking for some San Francisco/ big city vibes.
San Jose City Hall
San Jose City Hall from a first glance looks a little… intergalactic. For some reason it reminds me of a NASA structure with a rocket ready to take off. However, when I eventually walked around I was impressed by the clean lines and white and bright space. Visit on the weekend for a virtually empty backdrop.
San Pedro Square Market
San Pedro Square really deserves its own blog post. Especially since I could count at least 10 Instagrammable nooks. Take a walk around and you’ll find some fun spots. Some of my favorites? The colorful crosswalk near the big sign, the Spaghetti Factory corridor, Olla Cocina, and B2 Coffee are just a few.
San Pedro Square Market Parking Garage
So technically, this one could be considered part of the market. If you’re looking for some big city vibes, walk (or take the elevator) to the top floor of the garage.
Santana Row
Santana Row is the place to visit if you’re on the hunt for a European look and feel. This is another Instagrammable spot in San Jose that requires some exploration. Walk around and discover ~10 photogenic spots!
SoFA
SoFA made a feature in both of my other Instagram Guides in San Jose (they’re linked above if you’re interested). I love how vintage this cross-street is. Between the old signage and colorful street, you’ll be sure to take a fun shot!
O’Brien’s Ice Cream Parlor and Candy Shop
The vintage style O’Brien’s Ice Cream Parlor and Candy Shop is located inside History Park in San Jose. It is a replica of the historic ice cream parlor that was started in 1874. This adorable spot feels like a time capsule and also has yummy sundaes and sweet treats. They are open Saturdays & Sundays from 12-5 PM.
