Most Instagrammable San Francisco Restaurants #1: Son & Garden
First up, we have the newest restaurant on the scene – Son & Garden. Born from the chef of Farmhouse Kitchen, it brings creativity to the restaurant seen. The decor and food can be described as Asia meets London meets Alice in Wonderland! They recently started afternoon tea which I can’t wait to go back and try it.
- Location: 700 Polk St. San Francisco, CA 94109
- What we ordered: Matcha Mochi pancakes, Bibimbap omelette, & Dragon pearl jasmine tea.
- Pro Tip: The “secret” backroom is absolutely gorgeous, so be sure to make your reservation in the room in advance. (Note: it doubles as a bar and is 21+).
Most Instagrammable San Francisco Restaurants #2: The Grove Design District
The Grove has various locations throughout the city, but my favorite is the Design District one! The vintage rustic decor is a change from the typical white subway tiles that are trendy. There is also a bit of vintage New York in the decor.
- Location: 1 Henry Adams Street (at Townsend and Division), San Francisco, CA 94103
- What we ordered: The Grove Breakfast sandwich & breakfast burrito
- Pro Tip: If you’re taking the train up into the city, this is a great spot to stop for breakfast. It is reasonably priced and quick. They also have nice outdoor seating for a warmer day.
Most Instagrammable San Francisco Restaurants #3: The Riddler SF
From afar, the Riddler appears to be just a champagne bar. Who knew they’d also have a carefully crafted brunch menu?
- Location: 528 Laguna St, San Francisco, CA 94102
- What we ordered: Salmon tater tot waffles
- Pro Tip: Share a few plates (and a bottle of champagne) between friends. Sit on the patio and feel like you’re in Paris!
Most Instagrammable San Francisco Restaurants #4: Charmaine’s Rooftop Bar & Lounge
Next up we have another boozy spot. But we love a beautiful rooftop ambiance. Charmaine’s is located on the roof of the trendy Proper Hotel. Head over for light bites and drinks after work or for a romantic evening.
- Location: 1100 Market Street Entrance, 45 McAllister St, San Francisco, CA 94102
- Pro tip: Make a reservation ~2 weeks in advance for seating. While you can just head up there and grab a drink, if you’re looking for food, make a reservation.
Most Instagrammable San Francisco Restaurants #5: Leo’s Oyster Bar
How can we describe Leo’s Oyster bar? The chef describes it as a “1950’s Beverly Hills meets Manhattan club.” I would also call it Vintage Miami meets Hawaii and Beverly Hills. This seafood restaurant isn’t only for the oyster-lovers. There’s also beautifully curated seafood menu featuring everything from lobster rolls to clam chowder.
- Location: 568 Sacramento St, San Francisco, CA 94111
- What we ordered: Crispy brussel sprouts, lobster roll, clam chowder
- Pro Tip: 1) check out Happy Hour M – F 3:30- 5:30 for special deals. 2) Visit during the week as the weekend has very limited hours (dinner only Saturday, closed Sunday).
Most Instagrammable San Francisco Restaurants #6: The Rotunda at Neiman Marcus
The Rotunda at Neiman Marcus is where I go when I want to dress up and feel glamorous. I actually have only been for afternoon tea (which gets a 10/10), but I’ve heard great things about their lunch as well.
- Location: 150 Stockton St, San Francisco, CA 94108
- What we ordered: Afternoon tea
- Pro Tip: Make a reservation ~2-3 weeks in advance to reserve a coveted seat along the balcony.
