I’m already on day 3 of my trip and cannot believe how time has passed by– the sheer amount of things I’ve fit into a day has made it feel like a week! I’m in full-on Hong Kong tourist mode. We recently had my favorite day (so far) of the trip– a Hong Kong city tour. The tour included a visit to the Hong Kong Chi Lin Monastery, riding in Sampan boats to the Aberdeen Fishing Village and Dim Sum on a floating restaurant, and a visit to Victoria’s Peak (where you can see the entire city). Hearing the itinerary, and coming from a Western culture, it was hard to imagine what these places would be like. The results were shockingly beautiful and amazing.

The location of the Buddhist monastery is in the middle of Kowloon. The architectural design, though reminiscent of Japanese architecture, actually comes from the Tang Dynasty. The sanctuary was incredibly peaceful and therapeutic. This was one of my favorite shots– revealing the new and the old of the city.
I feel so blessed to have two of my sorority sisters with me on this trip! After the visit to the monastery, we headed closer to the water to ride around in Sampan boats. This was by far my favorite part of the excursion and so far the entire trip!
If you go to Hong Kong, I highly recommend having Dim Sum at the Jumbo Kingdom Restaurant. Though more expensive that the traditional cost, the experience makes it worth every penny. Can you imagine eating on that?
After Dim Sum, we made our way to Victoria’s Peak– a must see, and our final destination. From the Peak you can see the entire city.
Today we are leaving for a 4 day excursion to mainland China. While I won’t have my laptop, I will update you all as soon as I get back!
Have a great weekend loves! Check out more HK content here.
