Is fall here yet? While the calendar might say we’re in a new season, here in California it feels like summer is kicking into full gear. But I’m not letting the weather get me down! Recently we visited the Carlsbad Pumpkin Patch on opening day to shoot our favorite looks. The best part? Each of these Fall 2020 Fashion Trends are items that I wore this summer and can easily be transitioned for the new season.
Fall Outfit Idea #1: The Silk Skirt & Fall Sweatshirt
For the first of the Fall 2020 fashion trends, we have the dad sweatshirt and a silk midi. A silk midi skirt is a must in every chic girl’s closet. It’s something you can pair with a tank top in the summer, a blouse in the spring, and a sweater in the winter. I dressed my skirt down with an oversized sweatshirt to make it pumpkin patch appropriate.
Pro Tip: Oversized dad sweatshirts are best shopped either in your dad’s closet (which is what I do) or at the thrift store!
Fall 2020 Outfit Idea #2: The Printed Dress & Combat Boots
This dress is one of my favorites and was a staple during Easter season. The color and print scream fall, but it’s just Springy enough to not be too heavy. Pair it with a combat boot to give it an edgier look.
Fall 2020 Outfit Idea #3: The Statement Headband & Black Blazer
Up next, we have the statement headband. I’m not going to lie, this look was very much inspired by Blair Waldorf from Gossip Girl. And fun fact: this skirt was actually part of my high school uniform!
If you have a velvet headband, that already feels perfect for the autumn season. But if you have something a little more summery, throw on an oversized blazer and plaid to prep it for the season.
Fall 2020 Outfit Idea #4: The classic white button down & plaid skirt
I think we have a uniform skirt obsession happening here if you can’t tell. Anyways, a classic white button down is a staple in every closet (and it doesn’t always have to be super formal). Pair it with a leather boot and a warmer color like mustard for fall. For the cornfield I also added a farm-ish touch with a straw hat!
Fall 2020 Outfit Idea #5: Your Favorite Summer Dress & Turtleneck
Last up let’s talk about my bff named “black turtleneck.” Honestly, if you don’t have one (or 5) of these in your closet, you’re going to need to get your behind off the couch to go shopping. This is a must for fall and winter. I like to pair it under my sleeveless dresses to create a whole new look.
