The Palm Trees & Pellegrino Instagrammable Places series continues… this stop? Boston, Massachusetts! While I always try to share some of the more “hidden” spots in each city, this time I put on my binoculars to find a few off the beaten path places that I’m sure most guides won’t offer. Sharing 8 of Boston’s Most Instagrammable Places below. PS: Some of these are a few of the classics because they’re too good to keep off the list!
Most Instagrammable Places in Boston: Stop #1: Brattle Book Shop
Brattle Book Shop, established in 1825 is known as “One of America’s Oldest and Largest Antiquarian Book Shops.” The interior is reminiscent of an old world bookstore. However, my favorite element is the alley next door which they fill with discount books ($1 and up!). Great if you’re looking for a little souvenir for yourself from your trip, or if you’re a book nerd!
- Location: 9 West St, Boston, MA 02111
- Hours: Mon – Sat 9 AM – 5 PM, Closed Sunday
Most Instagrammable Places in Boston Stop #2: The Cannoli Cart at Eataly
When I spotted Eataly’s “Cannoli cart” in the Prudential Center, my Sicilian heart was pretty excited! This cute corner at the entrance of Eataly is perfect for a little afternoon snack. PS: I’ve had cannoli all over Siciliy (where they were invented) and these were pretty authentic.
- Location: Prudential Center, 800 Boylston St, Boston, MA 02199
- Hours: 9 AM – 11 PM daily
Most Instagrammable Places in Boston Stop #3: Mary Baker Eddy Library
If you follow me on Instagram, you might have seen my post when I said that the Mary Baker Eddy Library was my favorite stop in Boston. Their mapparium – a 1935 stained glass globe (to scale) is just the most stunning experience. The only downside? You can’t actually take photos or videos inside the mapparium. However, they do have a “selfie wall” set up outside.
- Location: 200 Massachusetts Ave, Boston, MA 02115
- Hours: 10 AM – 5 PM daily
Most Instagrammable Places in Boston Stop #4: Chinatown Gate
Check out the Chinatown gate early to get that quintessential photo. While you’re in the neighborhood, grab dim sum at China Pearl Restaurant. It’s delicious and affordable!
- Location: John F Fitzgerald Surface Rd, Boston, MA 02111
Most Instagrammable Places in Boston Stop #5: Beacon Hill & Acorn Street
Cutest neighborhood alert! From a walking around perspective, Beacon Hill has the most photo ops. Between the cobbled streets and the brick homes, you’ll feel right back in the 1800s.
Pro tip: Everyone talks about Acorn Hill (above) as being the “Most photographed street in America.” Oddly enough, there are signs saying no commercial photography and no crossing through the path. To be honest, there were plenty of similar streets so I wouldn’t call this an absolute must. However, if you do get there early, you should be able to quickly snap a picture from the sidewalk!
Rouvalis Flowers reminded me of a flower shop in Paris. We stumbled upon it while exploring and I loved their decor and flowers. Pick up a bouquet or a little souvenir to take home while you’re in the area.
- Location: 40 W Cedar St, Boston, MA 02108
- Hours: Mon – Fri 9 AM – 6 PM, Sat 10 AM – 6 PM, Closed Sunday
Most Instagrammable Places in Boston Stop #6: Tatte Bakery & Cafe
When I asked on my Instagram stories if anyone had any recommendations for food in Boston, quite a few people mentioned that Tatte Bakery was a must. Between the delicious food, huge portions, amazing coffee, and fabulous aesthetic, I could see why!
Pro Tip: There are plenty of locations around the city. Plan to stop by for an early breakfast in whichever location is most convenient to your activities!
- Location: 399 Boylston St, Boston, MA 02116
- Hours: Mon – Fri 7 AM – 8 PM, Sat 8 AM – 8 PM, Sun 8 AM – 7 PM
Most Instagrammable Places in Boston Stop #7: Boston Public Library
The library was established in 1848 and was the first large free public library in the U.S. If you have time, I highly recommend taking the architecture tour as there’s plenty to see.
- Location: 700 Boylston St, Boston, MA 02116
- Hours: Mon – Thurs 9 AM – 9 PM, Fri – Sun 9 AM – 5 PM
Most Instagrammable Places in Boston Stop #8: Quincy Market
Walk through the historic Quincy Market on your way to the North End (Boston’s Italian Quarter). Personally, I wouldn’t recommend eating there as the food was touristy and overpriced, but do walk through and check out the little stands on the side selling souvenirs.
- Location: 4 S Market St, Boston, MA 02109
- Hours: Mon – Sat 10 AM – 9 PM, Sun 11 AM – 7 PM
