About the U Pick Orchards
U Pick Orchards has been a family owned business since the 1800’s. Back then though, the lands were used for farming apricots. Within the last 3-4 years, the farms, which transitioned from growing apricots to cherries, also transitioned into the U Pick model which has been very popular. Chris and Mary Borello, the brains behind the U Pick idea, are the proprietors of one of the five U Pick ranches in the Bay area.
What you need to know for your visit:
- Cherry Prices: U-pick cherries are $5 per pound, while the pre-picked cherries are $6 per pound. I recommend picking them yourselves as it’s a fun outing and very relaxing!
- Entrance & parking: Free
- Pro Tip: The team over at the orchards recommended either arriving right at opening (9AM) or towards the end of the day. We arrived around 9:05AM and there were a line of cars waiting to get in. The line went quickly as everything was very organized!
