One of my favorite parts of the holiday season is getting all dressed up, coming up with creative ideas, and pretending that I’m living in a Hallmark movie. Today I’m sharing 5 creative Christmas photoshoot ideas to try this season! PS- these are classics, so you can redo these every year!
Christmas Photoshoot Ideas #1: Cookies & Cocoa
What’s better than a prop you can eat?! There are so many creative directions to go for this shot – for example – making cookies at home in your cute pjs with hot chocolate. Or be like me and head to a cute cafe, pick up some hot cocoa and a pretty cookie, and smile between bites!
PS: If you’re located in San Diego, the Girard Gourmet is one of my go-to’s for decorated sugar cookies.
Christmas Photoshoot Ideas #2: USPS Elf
My neighborhood has the cutest little post office, especially at Christmas! I loved the idea of presents ft. a mailbox. For this shot, I actually wish I had a much larger pile of presents as it would have made it all the cuter.
Christmas Photoshoot Ideas #3: Festive Windows
New York City has some of the best holiday storefronts in the world. While they can be a little harder to find on the West Coast, nothing says “Christmas photoshoot” like a festive dress and a beautiful window.
Christmas Photoshoot Idea #4: Use a Wreath as a Prop
Use a classic wreath as a prop – you probably happen to already have one laying around the house and the bigger the better! Bonus points if you match it to your sweater. A few ideas – wear it like a purse, hold it in front of you, or dance around with it.
Christmas Photoshoot Idea #5: Stroll through a Christmas Tree Farm
Growing up in Southern California, the equivalent of a Christmas tree farm was a Christmas tree parking lot. Surprisingly, this year I did manage to find a u-cut farm in the area! This is also a great option for couples photos.
