The Bay Area may not be a quaint town on the East Coast or the Pacific Northwest, but when it comes to fall, there’s a lot to get you in the spirit. Today we’re sharing 4 things to do in the Fall in the Bay Area!
Fill up on pie at Gizdich Ranch
Let me just say that whether you’re coming from San Jose or San Francisco, the drive to Gizdich Ranch is worth it even if you’re just going to fill up on a piece of pie and ice cream. Their pie is some of the best I’ve had and you can tell it’s legit because people tend to walk out with a few boxes on their way home.
While you’re there however, you can also go apple picking, pop into their antique store, and check out the other little unique nooks on the property.
- Address: 55 Peckham Rd. , Watsonville CA 95076
- Hours: 9 AM – 5 PM daily
- Apple picking: $1.65/lb
Pick apples at Live Earth Farm
I visited Live Earth Farm last year, and loved that it felt like such a homey experience. Get lost in the orchards and walk out with as many apples as you can carry. PS: they also have other u-pick produce on the property.
- Address: 172 Litchfield Lane, Watsonville, CA 95076
- Hours: Seasonally Saturdays & Sundays 10 AM – 3 PM

Go pumpkin picking at Andreotti Family Farm in Half Moon Bay
Ah yes, my latest find, Andreotti Family Farm. I was there earlier in the season to visit their u-pick sunflowers (you can read about that below). I love that there is always something happening on the farm. In the fall they not only have pumpkin picking, but a corn maze as well!
- Address: 800 Cabrillo HWY North, Half Moon Bay, CA 94019
- Hours: Daily 10 AM – 5 PM
Check out the Glass Pumpkin Festival at Santana Row
For a less traditional take on Fall, stroll through the Santana Row Glass Pumpkin Festival. There are thousands of hand-blown glass pumpkins and you can even buy them as a gift!
- Address: Santana Row Park
- Event dates:
- Friday, October 4: 4 – 8 PM
- Saturday, October 5: 10 AM – 8 PM
- Sunday, October 6: 10 AM. – 6 PM
