Happy VDay! I’m back in Seattle after a fabulous weekend of visiting my BFF in NorCal. She’s at school at UC Davis, so I had time for a quick getaway to Davis and Napa (both of which I hadn’t been to before!) Tonight I’ll be celebrating Galentine’s Day with some of my favorite Seattle girlies.
DAVIS
If you haven’t been to Davis, it’s this adorable little college town. I loved that the downtown was so concentrated and that there were shops and restaurants scattered everywhere. We also made a trip down to the famous Arboretum on campus which was SO gorgeous. If I had had some walking shoes one I would have insisted we walk along the whole thing!
I was prepared for cold weather and rain, but surprisingly it stopped raining just in time for the weekend! For the look, I went with a long sleeve turtleneck and leather jacket since I knew we would be doing quite a bit of walking in the wind. Jeans are always a must when I travel, along with a bag big enough to fit my camera and other items. I’m not much of a belt person, but this one went so well with the “brown theme” that I couldn’t resist!
Also, how great are these walls?! I was in bright wall heaven.

NAPA
Napa is one of those places that I’ve always heard about, but considering I’m not a big wine drinker, didn’t feel like making the trek all the way there. When I discovered that it was a short hour drive from Davis, it was a must! I’ll have to go back at some point because one day was so not enough.
The drive itself was beautiful through these bright green rolling hills. We started in downtown Napa with a visit to the Oxbow Public Market Napa. It reminded me a little bit of Pike Place with the flowers and food vendors.
From there we walked in downtown Napa which had the cutest little shops and restaurants. You can also walk along the water and enjoy a glass of wine at any of the unique restaurants.
Okay, now for my ALL TIME FAVORITE part. (That needed caps, sorry not sorry). Yes, I love brunch, and yes this now is in the top 5 of my favorite brunch spots ever. The Boon Fly Cafe is about a 10 min drive from downtown Napa in a modernized barn.
It was also a pretty great spot for a photo op. (We know my thing for colored walls hehe)
For Napa, I wanted to keep my look chic, but comfortable. I opted for a black mock neck shirt, a belted shawl, ribbed leggings, and leopard print loafers to tie it all together.

Nice post! We live in Napa and Oxbow is usually our Saturday starting point for …whatever. But my real love is Boon Fly. On weekends the wait is at least an hour (no reservations!) but we’re always happy to stand in line. Check out our wine country blog for some ideas on where to visit next time: http://www.topochinesvino.com.
