As a San Diego local (born and raised!) – I recently had a staycation-themed bachelorette. If you’ve been following along on my Instagram, you probably already know that my upcoming wedding will be in Italy. When it came to a bachelorette, I didn’t want to go too over the top (because flying to Europe is already a big ask TBH). We combined my bridal shower and bachelorette into a 1 night / 2 day event which was so much fun!! Keep reading for how to spend your San Diego bachelorette weekend.
Where to stay for your San Diego Bachelorette Weekend
If you’re in a smaller group and don’t plan to cook or hang out at the house much, a hotel is the best option. We opted for the Airbnb route and stayed here – ideal for beach and bay access and relaxing.
Little Italy AirBnB– When choosing a spot in Little Italy, check out spots that are within walking distance from the restaurants, bars, and shops on India Street and Kettner Blvd. One of the perks of staying in this area is the walkability, and you can avoid Ubering.
Pacific Beach AirBnB– We stayed in Crown Point, which is south of PB’s hustle and bustle. If you want to be right in the mayhem, check out places that are within walking distance of Garnet and Mission Blvd, where you can find most of the bars.
La Jolla AirBnB– Finding a spot in Bird Rock will allow for access to coffee shops and a couple of restaurants in the area while also being central to more places in La Jolla, Pacific Beach, or even Downtown.
If you’re looking for hotels downtown, we love The Guild and Pendry downtown for walkability and aesthetics. If you’re looking to stay in the beach areas, Tower 23 Hotel in Pacific Beach and The Cormorant in La Jolla are adjacent to shops, restaurants, and the beach, of course.
How I spent my bachelorette weekend in San Diego
Day 1: Tea & Tulum Vibes
Start with Afternoon tea at Coral Tree Tea House
With a destination wedding, I originally opted not to do a Bridal Shower. In the end, we tacked a small afternoon tea bridal shower to the bachelorette weekend with my bridesmaids and included my mom! Still, a great option if looking for a chic activity to kick off the bach festivities.
Coral Tree Tea House, tucked away in Old Town is within a historic home in Heritage Park. Each room in the home has a different British vibe. I’ve always loved coming here as the scone flavors rotate on a monthly basis and they tend to load up the tea towers!
Snacks & Pregame at the House
At the house, we had some snacks and pregamed before heading to dinner. I also took the opportunity to give the girls their bach bags! For food, we did homemade pizza (with crust from Trader Joe’s), a veggie platter, and hummus and chips.
For the bach bags, the theme was reusable and summery. I wanted to pick items that I knew the girls could 100% reuse after the weekend! Each bag was $34.79 and featured a reusable purse, lounge set, and trendy makeup headband.
Spend the Evening at Camino Riviera
Camino Riviera serves up major Tulum vibes in the heart of Little Italy. The best part about Camino is it’s a restaurant and a club.
Make a reservation and head there early for shareable bites and cocktails, then head back into the club when the kitchen closes at 10 pm. On the food front, don’t miss the crispy fried Brussels sprouts, grilled Spanish octopus, and the scallop agua chile.
My favorite part of the night was that the bottle service tables are right off the dance floor (so you’re still in the heart of the action)! You can book a table, which allows you to wait in the VIP line outside before entering. Bottle Service offers an extensive bottle list specializing in Tequila and Mezcal. While all late-night bottle service reservations have a minimum bottle spend and credit card deposit to secure the space, it’s 100% worth it when going with a group to ensure you have your own private space and server.
Day 2: Bougie Beach Day
Breakfast & Coffee
San Diego offers so many incredible cafes and coffee shops, depending on what neighborhood you stay in for your bachelorette trip. Here are a few of my favorites for a quick coffee and a bite before heading back to the airport or enjoying your final day in the city.
Parakeet Cafe – Parakeet has a few locations across San Diego, but most notably in Little Italy & La Jolla, where you might be staying. They have tons of healthy yet satisfying options for food which will give you life after a night of clubbing.
Spill the Beans– Sometimes, the best thing for the night after going out is a bagel. You can find Spill the Beans in Gaslamp or Seaport Village to get your fix.
Brick & Bell – This La Jolla classic is quick and casual and serves up some of the best scones. If you want to grab a coffee, a pastry, or an acai bowl, this is the spot.
Shorehouse Kitchen – Whether you want coffee and a pastry or a sit-down brunch or breakfast vibe, Shorehouse Kitchen serves up major deliciousness.

Luxury Beach Day with The Beach Genie
After a busy (and long) first day of the bach, we ended our staycation with a luxury beach day. The Beach Genie allowed us to enjoy the best parts of a beach day without lugging down all the chairs, umbrellas, etc. We opted for the La Jolla Shores location, which gave us plenty of room for our party. TBG offers 10+ locations for their setups all around San Diego.
They set up sand-resistant beach chairs, blankets, games, and sitting pillows for optimal comfort. It’s the best way to go for the perfect chic beach bach day.
Note: The Beach Genie offers a lot of different experiences and customizations depending on what you’d like. For example, we opted for the fruit platter and breakfast charcuterie board!
End with Aperitivo at Piatti’s La Jolla
Piatti really is a La Jolla gem. As you know, I’m picky when it comes to Italian food, but Piatti in La Jolla Shores never disappoints. After a luxury beach day, we completed the weekend with a delicious Aperitivo at Piatti’s. I love the cute bar area, and the restaurant also does a great job of accommodating larger parties. If you’re in the area, don’t sleep on this spot.
